FISHING DREAMS

Go fishing! Go hard and when your arms are sore, keep going. Keep going I said ! Even if your eyes can't stay open because of sleep deprivation but please, don't be a tosser, preserve and give the environment all the greatest respect it deserves
Tom.

New spot new reel and a bit of luck for a new PB silvery !

Tonight I'm hitting a new spot that looks promising.

I does look good but doesn't produce much until dusk with little choppers busting off everywhere.

I got one of them on a plastic and he obviously destroyed it so I decide to put a little hard body for the last cast before dark.

Good choice since I immediately got hooked on what I think is a large tailor, but after an insane fight I see this beautiful  silver trevally getting out of the blue !

New PB for me, the fish wouldn't have been far from 2 kilos and points at 51 cm ! Cracker !

Horrible picture but it's always tricky to take pictures by yourself while trying to let the fish go in the best conditions, whatever ! The scene will stay in my mind for a while believe me.

New spot new reel and a bit of luck for a new PB silvery !

Earlier I hooked this nice bream which rushed like a fish 10 cm bigger !! It was still a 35 cm fish, healthy as well ! I was fishing with a 6lb braid and 10 lb leader today which doesn't seem to spook them.

New spot new reel and a bit of luck for a new PB silvery !

This new DAIWA FREAMS 2000 doesn't look too good but feels fairly tough and you can feelDaiwa dramatically improved their drags quality, the fishes were running very smoothly.

Beautiful "flash session"

What a beautiful small session ! Barely one hour of fishing before dusk and I find myself hooked on the first cast.

The fish grabbed a BERKLEY BIG EYE blade on its way down after a twitch and is now pulling line out and keeps sticking to the bottom, I'm expecting a solid trevally when eventually after 4 / 5 minutes, I see this stump coming from the depth.

Lucky I had my fish grip and the beast is out after a little struggle ! 74 cm for this fat lizard, how good is that ?

Beautiful "flash session"
Quickly after a few pics, I chuck him back to its element.

Lucky the blade was on the outside of the mouth otherwise I'd have never seen this baby, caught on a 4lb leader !!!!
Beautiful "flash session"

After another half an hour and little flatheads and choppers, I'm now using a plastic and something is nibbling, just before it arrives on the pier the fish starts to actually pull on the lure and... STRIKE !!!

Same as before, some solid rushes reminding me a nice trevally, the fish is taking the direction of the bridge pylons so I decide to pull him hard and there it comes, I can't believe it when I see the shape of this beast of a bream !

Still fishing on 4lb, I decide to take it easy and finally land it.

For some reasons, under adrenaline I struggle to use my camera and cannot manage to make a decent picture.

The fish has been out for long enough so I don't measure it and chuck it back asap.

After a few seconds knocked down, he'll suddenly rev up like a Ferrari and goes back to its oysters bed !

What a cracker ! I don't actually know how big but that was definitely a 40 +
Beautiful "flash session"

HELL Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh !

Finally !

Finally !

Finally, the sought after fish has been landed ...
Got this fellow while hitting the rocks with a 14 cm popper not far from the Sydney Harbour entrance.
This fish really mistreated the "light gear" I was using, the 4000 Hyper Custom was yelling the hell, the Ashura rod was bending like never before and the 30lb leader was shitting itself, but after 6 or 7 minutes of a "never-ceasing" fight, the beast eventually gave-up.
91 cm of a brute, and a big thank you to the bloke who was fishing next to me and took this picture.
Greatest feeling ever !

Big bream on light gear

Big bream on light gear

For an occasional bream angler, this is not everyday you catch such a fish in Sydney Harbour.
What a pleasure when you land a big fish on a 2 lb outfit, especially when the angry bugger snagged you many times around the kelps, the oysters and finally comes after a lot of emotions and self-control.
This picture emphazises the importance of using a stinger hook when using long plastic lures, it also showcases this plastic which is from far the most efficient I ever used, the REINS BUBBLIN' SHAD colour watermelon.
40.5 cm of a healthy fish, for me the first one cracking the symbolic 40 on lure! Great personal achievement.

Well deserved fish

Well deserved fishThat is a well deserved fish believe me !
After a few days waking up at 4.30 am and a couple of big (very big fish) lost, I was starting to get sick of it.
2 hours of fishing without a bite when suddenly, my reel started screaming and you know what? I just screwed up (again) . Missed what was apparently a very nice fish again.
I've still  got one piece of fresh squid left and I'm thinking "go for a last cast Tom", I did well !
2 minutes later I was "on" with this beautiful little fellow, 74 cm of a healthy fish, love it !
What a great sunrise too, probably the most beautiful I saw this season.

Well deserved fish

First legal

First legal
That one is not stunning, the picture is crap and I wouldn't post another one like that on this blog but you know what ?
That fish is my first legal kingy landed in Australia, 69.5 cm and a happy fisherman.
After one year of chase, expectations, hope, disillusions with fish snagging and taunting me, I finally got it ! On popper too.
170 mm surface bull.
