Everyday I realise a bit more how lucky we are to be fishermen.
The knowledge and experience we gain every time we are out fishing is limitless.
No matter how often we go or how old we are, the variety of terrains, places, regions and countries we can explore will always guarantee that our quest will never even come close to an end.
But as if it was not enough, this endless potential for progression mixes with the thrill of the unknown.
Indeed, we can predict many things, we can expect many others, but in reality, we never know which fish will come and chew on our bait or lure, if any, it will be incredibly big, ridiculously small, it will be what we the target species, or a "by-catch", every time, the magic of the unknown gives us the adrenaline rush that we love so much.
Every time, our terrain is different, the conditions are not the same, a mirror calm spot one day might be the deadliest the next day, a new and unique challenge or chance will be offered to us every single time.
When one claims that fishing is monotonous and boring, I feel sorry for them, after all these years, I can affirm that our passion is possibly the richest and the most exhilarating there can possibly be. If there is any similar, better or richest thing to do, I am yet to experience it.
